1. Purpose of the position
The purpose we are hiring for these tax collectors are to contribute increasing revenue enhancement for the state and assist the Revenue department of the ministry of Finance and Economic development for the state of Hirshabelle by collecting all kinds of taxes from different towns and regions in the state.
In reference to the above needs and based on to reach for the Ministry of Finance its objectives to increase the local revenue for the state therefore the Ministry of Finance seeks for a qualified and skilled tax collector.
Responsibilities
· The tax collectors will be guided by the Revenue director and fulfil their tasks and responsibilities under the overall guidance and directions from the Revenue director in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development for Hirshabelle State of Somalia.
· They will handle, receive and document the amount indicated in the tax sheet/paper by confirming and checking upon completion of cash receipt document.
· They will closely work with the treasury department for recording the accurate number of tax payers and the total amount they collected at the end of everyday worked.
· The tax collectors are responsible for contacting the tax payers by assisting them and give directions and advice the best way that the tax payers can pay the tax.
· The tax collectors are responsible to prepare the daily report and submit to the Revenue director.
· The tax collectors are responsible to check the regulation and policies related to revenue authorization and their compliance with the PFM policy in the ministry of Finance.
· They are responsible to manage very carefully for all paper work related documentations like cash receipts, invoices and they should keep in a file by reviewing weekly based.
· The tax collectors are responsible for compiling all registration books and keep in a file.
· The tax collectors are responsible to explain and clarify the tax documents and how to fill them to the business owners to feel them confidence
· The tax collects should keep the registration books for unpaid taxes and prepare monthly reports to avoid missing documents related to collection of the tax and the cash receipts matching with the general registration book.
